The CounselingWorks
Extended Support Services
What is the Extended Support Services Program at CounselingWorks?
This program is designed to help individuals and
families who are going through tough economic times.
What kind of Extended Support Services are available at CounselingWorks?
There are three types of help available:
The Food Cupboard
Subsidized Counseling
Children's Gift Program
The
Food Cupboard is
located at the CounselingWorks office and is stocked with items such as canned
goods, juice, pasta and cereal. We may also have gift cards for local
supermarkets for the purchase of fresh food items.
Subsidized
Counseling allows
uninsured low-income clients (those who earn $1100 or less per month and have no
insurance) to pay a reduced fee of $5 per visit for up to 15 sessions per year
with one of the Registered Clinical Interns at CounselingWorks.
The
Children’s Gift Program provides
holiday, birthday and graduation gifts for children whose caregivers might
otherwise not be able to provide them. We will also help pay for expenses
related to pro-social recreational activities, such as sports or arts
participation fees.
Unfortunately, no. These services are reserved for
current CounselingWorks clients only.
I’ve
been turned down for Medicaid and/or Food Stamps. Can I still get help?
Yes. The only requirement is that you be a current
CounselingWorks client experiencing economic hardship. You do not need to
receive Medicaid or food stamps to be eligible for help.
Yes. These services are available to individuals,
couples or families.
Just ask your CounselingWorks therapist, or call
Elizabeth at 727-967-3320. Our goal is to provide you with quick, confidential
assistance which leaves your dignity intact.
We are grateful for any help which you can provide.
The Extended Support Services program runs year-round, so there is an ongoing
need for support from the community.
