Clinical Supervision Services
for LMHC and LCSW Interns

I have been a licensed clinical social worker since 1988, and have built a thriving mental health and clinical supervision practice in New Port Richey.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who want supportive, practical help coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship conflicts.

As a supervisor, I work best with motivated interns who are genuinely interested in maximizing their personal and professional development. I enjoy working with those who want guidance structuring their post-graduate learning in order to improve their skills and optimize their performance on the clinical licensing exam.

What can you expect from Clinical Supervision with Elizabeth Ruegg, LCSW?

  • Flexible, respectful scheduling with available appointments during day, evening or week-end hours to accommodate your needs
  • Individual Service Plans with specific goals which are developed collaboratively between us and are reviewed and updated every eight weeks
  • Weekly objectives which help keep you on track to meet your learning goals
  • Telephone and email consultation as needed
  • Comprehensive exam preparation in the form of study materials and complete practice exams provided to you every two months, with individual review of your correct and incorrect responses so you can appropriately focus your study time.

What my supervisees have to say:

"Elizabeth has a very supportive supervision style. She encourages me to delve into subject areas I’m interested in, and keeps me on track to organize and process what I’m reading and learning. "

"This is supervision with high expectations, both clinically and personally. That’s exactly what I thrive on. I wouldn't want it any other way."

"Elizabeth has an organized and structured approach which helps me."

“I need to be challenged or I won’t accomplish my goals or be prepared to take the clinical exam. Elizabeth is preparing me to be a licensed professional."

"Before CounselingWorks, I have an "easier" supervision experience elsewhere. However, had I continued with that type of supervision, I would not have experienced the private practice setting, presented at a conference or improved my clinical skills."

"Elizabeth helps you reach your own expectations, not hers. I have found a great amount of inspiration within myself that was looking for focus and validation. Elizabeth has helped me shape my future goals."

"I was attracted to Elizabeth's experience and knowledge and her enthusiasm to share this with others."

"Elizabeth has a wonderfully soft and wise quality that I sensed immediately and knew would be precious to my growth as a counselor and as a person.  It all comes together to make for an enjoyable learning opportunity."

"The private practice experience helped me realize I have choices with my career. I can work for an agency or for myself."

"I was fortunate to co-facilitate a therapy group at CounselingWorks. This was a valuable experience that I still draw from in my day-to-day clinical work."

"I had the privilege to present a segment at the Florida NASW conference which gave me the confidence to persue a position as a therapist/presenter."

"The opportunity to see private patients at CounselingWorks has provided me with rich therapeutic experience, helped me earn more hours toward licensing, and supplemented me with extra income to offset the cost of supervision."

"Seeing private patients provided valuable opportunities to enhance my skills in assessment, interventions, and treatment planning."

Earn While You Learn: The Intern Counseling Program at CounselingWorks

Interested supervisees may be offered the opportunity to see clients in my private practice through the Intern Counseling Program (ICP). Clients in the ICP are charged $25 per session and the Intern Counselor retains $20 of that fee. Charts, forms, and clerical support are all provided free of charge, so the Intern Counselor can focus exclusively on the counseling process.

If you are selected to participate in the ICP, you will be featured on my website as a staff therapist, which is excellent exposure should you wish to begin your own practice once you become licensed.

You may also be offered the chance to co-lead groups or workshops which are relevant to your interests and areas of expertise.

Since 1999, I have presented numerous workshops at the local and state level on mental health issues, and frequently invite my supervisees to participate in these presentations. This is an invaluable learning experience, and also a wonderful asset on your resume!

About Fees

My fee for supervision is $75 per 50-minute session. I also provide some supervision services at reduce fee in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics, to which I am bound as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

There is frequently a long waiting list for pro bono services. I will advise you if I have pro bono time available and you qualify for it based upon financial hardship or other outstanding need.
